Monday, April 23, 2007

You should be reading for 10 minutes at the start of class.
You need to start writing summaries over the material read from your red dot book.
This material should be entered into your black portfolios.
Mrs. Gidley will check to see if everything has been covered and gone over with Pronouns. Everyone has to have all items checked on the cover sheet.
Goals 2.1-2.7 must be completed.
I am not sure you have completed all the material required in the book and sheets.
All of you will go over the answers to these checking for errors and clarification of answers.
Questions will be answered.
You will have Mastery Test A over this material on Wednesday providing you have completed and gone over all of the material.
If not, Mastery Test A & B will be on Thursday.
On Tuesday, you will have a red dot book test over The Giver.

You need to start writing summaries over the material read from your red dot book.
This material should be entered into your black portfolios
· Today you will have a red dot book test over The Giver.
· You will continue working on the unit of pronouns.
· After you complete one of the goals/objectives, then you need to go over it as a group making sure you understand the material.
o Mrs. Gidley can sit with your group going over the answers with you and making sure you understand the material.

If you are ready, and you understand all of the material, you will have the Mastery Test today.
If you are not ready, then the tests will be on Thursday.
Anyone who has extra time, may read red dot books.

If you had the tests yesterday, you are being introduced to sentence structure and writing.
The first exercise models a paragraph over filmmaker George Lucas.
You are to read the model and answer the questions.
You also need to write a summary over this.
The summary is to be handed in for assessment.
You know how to write summaries.
You are to complete all of the assignments up to the section on “The Writing Process.”
I will cover this with you on Monday.

· Today you will work on writing and reading.
· In your black notebooks, you need to start writing summaries over the material you read in your red dot books.
· By Monday, you should have at least four entries. You need to date it and list page numbers.
