Monday, November 13, 2006

• Welcome to class. Go over expectations/goals.
• Discuss steno pads and daily writing.
• Assign first writing.
• Distribute text. Go through it with them.
• Hand out sheet over Study Habit Survey.
• Hand out sheet over Criterion Writing.
• Hand out sheet over Portfolio organization.
• Portfolios are due on Tuesday.
• We will log into Criterion today.

Tuesday, November 14, 2006

• We will be in the lab doing the first Criterion writing.
• Organize portfolio.
• Write in steno pads.
• Discuss DOL activities.
• Introduction to the literature book.
• Read and take notes over “How to use this book.”

Wednesday, November 15, 2006

• We will be in media center to get a red dot book. Be sure to enter book information in portfolio.
• Begin reading “Historical Background,” pp. 2-3. Share information in class.
• Go over Historical Background Activity in class. Check it together.
• We will begin “The History of Plymouth Plantation,” pp.4-5 in text. We will be looking for descriptive words-grammar check.
• You will write the vocabulary words and definitions in your portfolio. You will begin a writing assignment over this section.

• We will go over the literature selection. There will be a quiz on Friday.
• Work on red dot books.

Friday, November 17, 2006

• Test over “The History of Plymouth Plantation.”
• Read outside reading books.
• Finish criterion writing if needed.
